Description
Johnson County Ambulance department seeks a Field (Paramedic) Supervisor to coordinate assigned shift activities and assure staff coverage of ambulances. Organizes and directs the work of personnel assigned to his/her shift.

Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent AND three years of paramedic experience AND one year of supervisory experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities. BCLS Instructor and ACLS Instructor certifications preferred.

Special Requirements
Current EMT-Paramedic certification in the state of Iowa and current BCLS provider and ACLS provider certifications. Valid chauffeur’s license and insurable under County liability coverage. Safe driving record. Within six months of hire, must reside in Johnson County or within a twenty mile radius of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. Within one year of hire, must complete NIMS ICS300 training.

Compensation
$26.92 - $31.67 an hour plus excellent benefits.

HCHC EMS is a hospital-based ALS service, which in conjunction with a strong network of volunteer first responders, provides high-quality emergency medical services to all of Henry County. In addition to 911 responses, we provide basic, advanced and critical care transport for patients from HCHC and other local facilities to tertiary care facilities. Between emergency responses and interfacility transports, we respond to approximately 2,000 calls per year. As a hospital-based service, our paramedics enjoy a broadened clinical environment by assisting other departments as needed.

Full-time paramedics work just two shifts per week; one 16-hour shift (0700-2300) followed by 8 hours of “on-call?(2300-0700) and one 24-hour shift (0700-0700). There are no additional on-call requirements. Additionally, there is no residency requirement for on-call shifts, as call rooms are provided on-site.

Iowa County EMS provides ambulance service to all 576 square miles of Iowa County including 24 miles of I-80 and the historic Amana Colonies.
